Does a Clean & Buff add polyurethane?
No. We clean and buff the polyurethane already on the floor. No new polyurethane is applied.
How do I know whether my polyurethane is in good enough condition?
We inspect the finish for worn-through areas, bare wood, peeling, deep scratches and other signs that a more extensive service is needed.
Will it remove scratches?
It may improve very light surface scuffs, but it will not remove deep scratches through the polyurethane or into the wood.
Can engineered hardwood be cleaned and buffed?
Often, yes, provided the factory finish is still in great condition and the floor is compatible with the cleaning and buffing process.
Is Clean & Buff the same as Screen & Recoat?
No. Screen & Recoat includes applying a new coat of polyurethane. Clean & Buff does not.
